Again, upon hearing the news that Modi is currently planning to run a third term as the Prime Minister of India is pretty shocking considering the fact that India is supposed to be the populous democracy in the world at the present moment. The issues are not extremely difficult to understand, because that could mean the end of the Indian democratic system for all we are currently aware of, which could be detrimental for the development of the country because without an adequate system of check and balance instilled in all government institutions the leader might make incorrect and potentially disastrous decisions that might lead to the curtailment of the Indian economy and infrastructure and could potentially result in India suffering more terrorist attacks from ISIS and other paramilitary organizations from the Middle East, which could signal the beginning of the third world war, and nuclear weapons could theoretically be detonated, killing all military servicemen and millions of civilians as a result. I don’t see that as a promising sign that India is developing towards a proper democracy and autocratic rule could always return at any moment. This should also serves as a warning to countries like the United States as it proves how easy it is to infiltrate into a democratic system of government and make it authoritarian. One primary example of this was the transition between Weimar Republic and Nazi Germany during the first half of 1933, when Hitler and the National Socialist Germans’ Workers Party systematically destroyed political opponents across the entire country and established a dictatorship in Germany without ever formally declaring the Weimar Constitution of 1919 ineffective, The same thing could happen in the United States as well and we as citizens must have the political instinct to restrain ourselves from voting for candidates holding extreme ideologies, since they could transform the government from inside out, establishing and securing a dictatorship.
